MTL to develop existing ports
Modern Terminals Ltd of Hong Kong said that it plans to invest US$128m-256m in its existing port projects in China over the next three years. The container terminal operator has investments in several berths in Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Preliminary data showed that MTL’s throughput rose 3 per cent year-on-year in 2001 to 3.16m teu.

Bid to host 2010 World Expo
China has formally applied to host the 2010 World Exposition, Shanghai Daily News reported.
