Yingkou aims to double capacity

The port of Yingkou in Liaoning province is to invest at least Yn1.6bn over the next 10 years to double its handling capacity to 50m tonnes a year, said China Daily. Six new piers will be constructed and the port’s channel will be deepened to accommodate 10,000-tonne cargo ships.

A large distribution centre and grain storage facility are also to be constructed, while a new highway will be built to connect the port with the cross-province expressway.
