CBRC okays Daimler-Chrysler for car financing

The China Banking Regulatory Commission gave the green light for DaimlerChrysler AG to set up an auto finance unit to sell loans to its customers, the automaker said. The company said it expects to start issuing loans in the third quarter of 2005. Both Volkswagen AG and General Motors (GM) were previously cleared to start car-loan facilities.
