CCTV advertising revenues up

Advertising revenue at Chinese Central Television (CCTV) grew 18% last year to RMB 7.53 billion, compared with RMB 6.38 billion in 2002 and RMB 5.6 billion in 2001.

The increase in CCTV's advertising sales outpaced the 12% gain for the overall mainland market, in which advertisers spent US$2.7 billion last year.

CCTV said the top advertising spenders were mobile-phone makers and food companies.
