[photopress:advertising.jpg, full, alignright]The mobile advertisement market in China may grow to RMB131 million ($16.5 million) this year compared to RMB82 million ($10.3 million) in 2005. This according to a Beijing-based research firm, Analysys International.
Big names such as BMW, top Chinese sportswear company Lining and PC maker Lenovo have placed advertisements on mobile phone screens in the past months.
Researchers said that compared with traditional methods, advertisements on the Internet and mobile phones are more media-rich, interactive and attractive. An argument difficult to follow making the research somewhat suspect.
Li Jia, an analyst with Analysys International, forecasts the mobile ads market in China could hit RMB401 million ($50.7 million) by 2008.
