Central bank governor pledges to boost African development

China's central bank governor Zhou Xiaochuan pledged to promote African development ahead of the annual meeting of the African Development Bank (ADB) in Shanghai, AFP reported. "We will make more efforts to share with African countries in terms of reform and opening up the financial sector," Zhou said. The ADB meeting this year is the first to be held in Asia. It will see 53 African and 24 non-African member countries discuss the continent's economic and development issues under the theme "Africa and Asia: Partners in Development".
