Chengdu is attracting major investment and many companies. It seems to be almost a boom city in the middle of the Gold Rush. Some examples of the changes taking place.
Alibaba Group is to invest $100 million in Chengdu to build the "Alibaba Western Base."
China Plastic City Chengdu project will mean an investment of RMB800 million in Xindu district. After the first-phase is put in operation it is thought over 3,000 people will be employed on the project.
