Chengdu is bursting out all over

Chengdu cityChengdu is attracting major investment and many companies. It seems to be almost a boom city in the middle of the Gold Rush. Some examples of the changes taking place.

Alibaba Group is to invest $100 million in Chengdu to build the "Alibaba Western Base."

China Plastic City Chengdu project will mean an investment of RMB800 million in Xindu district. After the first-phase is put in operation it is thought over 3,000 people will be employed on the project.

Four companies, the most important being RedStar Furniture and Zhongtie Wuju will invest RMB10.1 billion yuan, in which the RedStar-Shanghai Mall project of investment of RMB3 billion will start construction on August 8th, which also contains the first five-star hotel in the northern part of Chengdu.

The China Electronics Fair will be held there at the end of August and this is said to be the most important electronic information industry fair in China although this could be argued.

Pratt & Whitney is to increase capital of over $15 million expand its base for building and maintain aircraft engines in Chengdu High-tech Zone. Pratt & Whitney will move its controlled joint venture, Chengdu Aerotech Manufacturing, to the High-tech zone and then expand it.

China’s biggest Airbus maintenance base to be constructed in Chengdu. This is a project of Taikoo Sichuan Aircraft Engineering Services, which will be a specialized maintenance base for the Airbus in China.

Intel’s first Campus Advanced Electronic Manufacturing Engineering Center has opened in Chengdu, which is a first for Intel.

Shanxi Tongda Group, best known for the Dayang and Dayun motorcycles, is going to build trucks in the Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone and will invest RMB2.1 billion.

has doubled the Chengdu to Seoul air route

China’s first professional manufacturing company of civil aviation electronic system and equipment development and research — CET Aviation Electronics — has now been was established in Chengdu with an investment of RMB1 billion.
