Beijing has branded the US “hypocritical” following criticisms from US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s over alleged Chinese cyber-hacking, Bloomberg reported. A commentary published by the official Xinhua News Agency noted that America introduced the concept of cyber warfare and accused the US administration of pointing its finger at others “without proper justification.” The commentary also accused the US of imposing “double standards,” saying it is “common practice” for nations including the US to restrict access to online information. Xinhua also ran a report claiming that China has become the world’s biggest victim of cyber attacks, according to China Daily. The report cited Zhou Yonglin, deputy chief of the operations department of the China National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team, who also dismissed Google’s allegation that China-based hackers had attacked its servers.
