China adds 7.25 million jobs: state media

China added 7.25 million jobs to the job market in the first half of the year, Reuters reported, citing a Tuesday report from state-run news agency Xinhua. Yin Weimin, minister of human resources and social security, said that the service sector would be important in keeping unemployment low, adding that 1% growth in that sector would mean roughly 700,000 more jobs. Yin stressed the need for job creation in services, emerging businesses and the private sector. Despite China’s economic slowdown, the registered urban unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.1%.
