China aims to become solar panels' biggest market

China has introduced a policy to encourage more rooftop solar installations.  which should help the nation making most of the world’s solar panels to also become their biggest market, Bloomberg reported, citing a Tuesday agency statement. The National Energy Administration asked local authorities to identify projects where power can be delivered to nearby customers, provide extra subsidies for public organizations and in rural areas and allow more projects to qualify for subsidies. China is aiming to add 8 gigawatts of solar energy for small users and 6 gigawatts for larger projects this year, which would make it the biggest market for photovoltaics.
