China Airlines to cut some fares

Taiwan’s China Airlines will cut ticket fares on flights to four Chinese cities starting October 10.
The price cuts range between 9% and 13.4% for flights to Shanghai’s Pudong and Hongqiao airports, and to Nanjing, Ningbo and Hangzhou.
"In this price cut package, CAL also lowers airfares on less crowded flights to Nanjing, Ningbo and Hangzhou. As these destinations are close to Shanghai, we would encourage customers to make good use of these alternatives," said company spokesman Hamilton Liu.
According to Liu, the load factor on the Taipei-Shanghai and Kaohsiung-Shanghai routes exceeds 90% and an empty seat on any of these flights is rare.
Focus Taiwan reports that the carrier currently provides 61 round-trip flights to 14 destinations on the mainland every week. it also reports that Taiwan’s other major carrier, EVA Airways, appears to have no immediate plans for price cuts.
