China, ASEAN to lower duties

China and the Association of Southeast Asia Nations are to lower tariffs on traded industrial goods on July 20, state media said, quoting the Ministry of Commerce. The move is the second phase in the strategy to forge a free-trade area between China and ASEAN. Under last November's bilateral accord on commodities trade, tariffs gradually have been reduced on more than 7,000 industrial commodities.
