China considering EU, Japan requests

The Ministry of Commerce said that China was considering the requests by the European Union (EU) and Japan to participate in talks between the US and China regarding a mainland semiconductor tax rebate for domestic manufacturers. China agreed to discuss the tax rebate with the US after the latter made a formal request for consultation via the World Trade Organization, under which the two sides are allowed 60 days to reach an agreement. If an agreement is not reached within the time limit, a second dispute settlement mechanism will be initiated.
