China Daily has launched a weekly European edition that will hit UK newsstands Friday, highlighting a growing effort by Chinese media to promote their voice around the world, state media reported. The English-language, state-run newspaper aims to "bridge the current affairs gap that exists between China and Europe" and follows the launch of its US and Hong Kong editions. China Daily European Weekly will be distributed in the UK and from Brussels. The newspaper said it plans to provide content of interest to both European and Chinese readers. Currently, China Daily has a worldwide circulation of about 400,000.
