The US filed a major complaint over China's unfairly subsidized industries with the World Trade Organization Friday. China's Ministry of Commerce responded Saturday, calling the US move "a pity" and saying that Beijing was "deliberating" the case, <a href="http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070204/ts_afp/chinaustradewtodisputeindustry_070204053226" style="color:#FF0000;text-decoration:underline">AFP</a> reported. US Trade Representative Susan Schwab said China subsidized steel, wood products, information technology and other industries at the expense of the US, <a href="http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/02/02/business/web.0202wto.php" style="color:#FF0000;text-decoration:underline">Bloomberg</a> reported. "The United States believes that China uses its basic tax laws and other tools to encourage exports and to discriminate against imports of a variety of American manufactured goods," Schwab said.
