China has committed to giving Cambodia US$548 million (RMB3.3 billion) in aid for infrastructure improvements, Reuters reported. The two countries signed agreements for US$500 million in soft loans and US$48 million in grants when Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen during the weekend. In a briefing on Wednesday, Cambodian Commerce Minister Cham Prasidh thanked China, saying that some of the funding will be used to improve roads and bridges in the country. He also reiterated Cambodia’s diplomatic support for China and its “one China” policy.
