China Eastern RMB4 bln Expo earnings

The Shanghai-based Chinese airline giant China Eastern Airlinesexpects to earn more than 4 billion renminbi from the Shanghai World Expo as the designated airline.

These projected profits was reported in China Business News, citing Liu Shaoyong, Chairman of China Eastern Airlines.
As the first partner of Shanghai World Expo in 2010, China Eastern Airlines is the only designated air carrier for the Shanghai World Expo.
Liu said that during the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, Shanghai is expected to welcome 70 million visitors, and about 11 million to 17 million of them are expected to choose to fly to Shanghai. The airline has a marketing objective to earn no less than 4 billion renminbi from the Shanghai World Expo.
 
Trading Markets reported that aAlready it is showing signs of massive improvements over last yet. The company carried 5.16 million passengers in the month, up 43% year on year, and 129,760 metric tons (tonnes) of cargo and mail, up 74.15% year on year.
