China emerges as an investor

China took Japan's place as the world's fifth largest foreign investor in 2003, according to a survey by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. The survey said that China will continue to be the fifth largest source of foreign direct investment in 2004 and 2005. China is the first developing country to be one of the top five foreign investors. The top four sources of foreign direct investment are the US, Germany, the UK and France.
