China’s quality watchdog on Monday raised concerns about fire risks in imported vehicles made by Jeep Wrangler, a unit of Chrysler Group, The Wall Street Journal reported. The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said on its website that it has urged the company to fix the fault and also said Jeep Wrangler owners should exercise caution and avoid driving in extreme conditions. The administration stated that imports of the model had been banned by China in 2011 because of fire risks associated with the SUV’s gearboxes but that imports had resumed after Chrysler took steps to fix the problem.
