The report says about 80% of primary school students have had access to the internet before the age of 9. Even some at pre-school age or one year old children. It, of course, depends on definition.
On a personal note my three and five-year-old grand-nephews sit with me and watch "Thomas the Tank Engine" on YouTube, which bores me silly and has given me a life-time loathing of the Fat Controller. But this would be classed as children using the internet.
Internet, second only to TV, is the favorite medium for elementary school students. Most of the users of this age access the internet to watch animations and movies (not, one trusts, Thomas the Tank Engine and that smug Fat Controller), music downloads and 40% of them use the internet to study.
People’s Daily Online said that playing online games is the favorite for many children — this comes as a suprise? — and over 90% of them have played online games at some point.
