China, India to hold army drills

India's Defense Minister George Fernandes said that China and India agreed to conduct joint army exercises in both countries later this year. The agreement was reached during China Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan's visit to India in March. China and India fought a border war in 1962. The proposed exercises would be the first army cooperation between the two neighbors since the war. China and India held joint naval exercises in 2003.
