China, Japan in East China Sea talks

China and Japan began talks on their dispute over gas exploration and drilling rights in the East China Sea that has strained relations between the two countries, according to media reports. China has begun exploring the gas fields along its sea border and reacted angrily when Tokyo said it would allow drilling in a disputed area that Japan regards as its sea boundary with China.
