China has agreed to a UN draft resolution rebuking Iran’s develoment of an expanded uranium enrichment program, as well as stating a clear desire to peacefully end the Syrian uprising before it expands, Reuters reported. China and Russia joined the US, Britain, France and Germany in agreeing to step up diplomatic pressures against Iran’s growing atomic bomb capabilities, just one day after Israel threatened to attack the state. The draft text urged Iran to cooperate with inspectors and expressed “serious concern” over Iran’s defiance of the UN. Prior sanctions on Iran appear to have fallen on deaf ears, with Iran having since continued its nuclear program. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that if Iran’s program is progresses too far, world powers will not be able to demand Israel hold fire.
