China launches 'Yaogan VII'

China has launched a remote-sensing satellite, "Yaogan VII," from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwestern Gansu Province.

Long March rocketChina has launched another satellite using, once again, the Long March rocket.

This is the 120th successful Long March launch.

The new satellite will be be mainly used for scientific experiments, land resources surveys, crop yield estimates and disaster prevention and reduction.

 
The satellite was developed by the China Academy of Space Technology under the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp. The rocket was designed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology.
 
China View reports this is the seventh satellite launch of this series going back to "Yaogan I" which was launched in April 2006.
