GM is China's second largest foreign carmaker, after Volkswagen. The CTS models are made at its joint venture with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp (SAIC). Cadillac's SRX luxury sport utility vehicle is also assembled there. But whether imported or made locally, the CTS models will sell for the same price RMB 518,000 (US$62,400). Shanghai GM's sales in the first seven months of the year rose 79.3%, to 160,982 units, more than double the industry growth rate.
