China may be building more nukes, ICBMs

China may be expanding its arsenal of nuclear weapons, UPI reported, citing military experts. Information gathered by Jane’s Intelligence Review, including satellite imagery reportedly shows that Beijing is developing and deploying up to five nuclear-armed intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). Beijing has so far not been included in arms reduction talks between the US and Russia, due in part to the relatively small size of its nuclear arsenal. The new ICBMs would represent the largest increase in Beijing’s missile capability since the late 1980s.
