China may use forex reserves to buy oil

China is looking at using some of its huge foreign exchange reserves to buy imported oil, state media reported, citing a Shanghai Securities News report. The plan would allow China to put its growing foreign exchange reserves to use while ensuring continuing oil supplies. China had foreign exchange reserves worth US$659bn at the end of March.
