China National Coal manager investigated

A senior manager at China National Coal Group has been arrested for gambling with company money in Macau, the South China Morning Post reported, citing state-backed media. Zhang Baoshan, one of three  of the company’s deputy general managers, as well the company’s former chairman, were said to have been arrested for allegedly taking funds from G-Ocean Energy Group, a subsidiary of the country’s second-largest producers. The pair were accused of using the funds to gamble in Macau, where Zhang was taken into custody by mainland police in November. Zhang resigned as vice-chairman of the China National Coal’s Hong Kong and Shanghai-listed subsidiary China Coal Energy on November 18 last year.
