Global stability and energy security can be undermined by China's and India's willingness to make oil deals with countries like Sudan and Iran, the US State Department said in a press release on testimony by E Anthony Wayne, assistant secretary for economic and business affairs, before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Efforts by China's national companies to participate in bilateral deals with those countries are troubling, he said, citing China's investments in Sudan's energy sector.
