Following reports that the US Environmental Protection Agency planned to cite Dupont for not disclosing a health hazard in its non-stick cookware, China said it would commence spot checks on Dupont products entering the country. The suspected health hazard was identified as a perfluorooctanoic acid, a synthetic chemical known as PFOA or C8. Officials at Quality Supervision Bureaus in Beijing and Guangzhou said they would be conducting the checks.
