China posts its lowest quarterly growth in 27 years

China’s economy grew at 6.2% in Q2— the weakest rate in at least 27 years, according to official data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), reported CNBC.

Q2’s growth was the country’s slowest since the first quarter of 1992, the earliest quarterly data on record, according to Reuters.

China’s economy expanded by 6.4% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2019. For the first half of the year, China’s GDP grew 6.3% on-year.
