China Railway Group (390.HKG, 601390.SHA) president Bai Zhongren has died following an accident, Bloomberg reported, citing a company statement to the Shanghai Stock Exchange on Monday. The operation of the company remains normal and the chairman will assume the responsibilities of the president before a new appointment, according to the statement. The company didn’t disclose details of the death. Chinese media are claiming that Bai committed suicide, South China Morning Post reported. The company’s shares have plunged 13.8% in Shanghai since the end of 2012 and underperformed the benchmark composite index.
