China, Russia oppose military action in North Korea

China and Russia said Friday they oppose military action in North Korea in response to the country’s recent nuclear experiments, Reuters reported. Foreign ministers from both nations voiced their opposition to last week’s nuclear tests but also agreed the incident should not be used as a pretext for military intervention. North Korea’s most recent test led to threats of increased sanctions on the totalitarian state from the US and others.
