The Chinese government has rejected White House claims that allowing US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden to leave Hong Kong has hurt relations between the two countries, The Wall Street Journal reported. The White House released stinging remarks on Monday rebuking China for not honoring its legal extradition obligations. A spokeswoman for China’s Foreign Ministry said that Hong Kong acted in accordance of with the law when Snowden was allowed to leave the region. The US is also investigating the possibility that Snowden was working with or exploited by Chinese intelligence, Bloomberg reported.
