China’s smartphone sales fell in the fourth quarter of last year for the first time in two years, state-run Xinhua reported, citing a new market report by the International Data Corporation (IDC). From the start of October to the end of December, smartphone shipments in China reached 90.8 million units, 4.3% fewer than the 94.8 million sets in the third quarter of 2013. Smartphone sales experienced explosive growth in the first nine months of last year, leading China to become the world’s largest smartphone market in terms of sales.
