Representatives from major Chinese solar panel manufacturers said they are looking to dodge substantial tariffs in the EU by raising prices and limiting exports, The Wall Street Journal reported. Despite the plea from industry, and claims that a deal had been reached, officials in Brussels rebuffed the idea and claimed that the two sides had not met. The EU trade commission is expected to announce on June 5 provisional tariffs on solar panels made in China after a nearly year-long probe into whether the panels were sold too cheaply. According to reports, the tariffs could be as much as 67.9%.
