BMW sees in the Chinese market 10 years of hope. The world’s largest maker of luxury vehicles hopes that in the next five to 10 years, China will become its top market from being its third largest at the moment.
BMW sold nearly 50% more cars in China this year compared with last year.
To meet such vigorous market demand, BMW is actively expanding capacity. In the last two months BMW improved factory capacity at existing plant space, reaching an average daily production of 200 vehicles. This means BMW will be producing some 75,000 vehicles annually.
Web NewsWire reports BMW will also pay special attention to the development of new energy vehicles. Based on its plans, BMW aims to launch a new energy sub-brand in China in 2013.
