China Southern Airlines has finalized a deal to buy 10 Boeing 787 aircraft with a total list price of about US$1.2 billion, state media reported. The new aircraft, which use 20% less fuel than similar planes and reduce maintenance costs by 15%, are expected to lower operation costs of China Southern. The sale is part of a larger deal signed in January in which six Chinese airlines agreed to buy 60 Boeing jets worth US$7.2 billion.
