Speed skater Wang Meng, 20, has given China its first gold medal of the Winter Olympics in Turin, winning the women's short-track 500-meter event, and inheriting the crown from her mentor Yang Yang who won China's first gold in the Winter Olympics in 2002. Wang won in a time of 44.345 seconds with Bulgaria's Evgenia Radanova claiming silver ahead of Canada's Anouk Leblanc-Boucher, who took bronze when China's Fu Tianyu was disqualified. "I don't really realize that I am the Olympic champion," Wang said. "I still don't feel it. I still feel tense. The competition was very challenging."
