Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said this year will be the most difficult in recent years for the country’s economy, the South China Morning Post reported. He said maintaining strong and stable economic growth will be China’s priority, despite the global economic crisis. Wen made his comments in a lengthy essay in a Communist Party publication. He said the government’s main macroeconomic goal is to contain inflation while maintaining stable and relatively fast economic development. He said that economic growth is essential for employment and social stability.
