China Unicom, the country's second largest provider of mobile telephony services. has drawn up a new marketing strategy to ensure that it meets its target for new subscribers to its CDMA digital network. Despite slow subscriber growth in the first four months of the year and the impact of the Sars outbreak on sale, the group remains confident that it could win 13tu new subscribers in 2003, raising the number of users to 20m.
The company was going to introduce new services and handsets, as well as increase its sales channels and its advertising budget.
