China urges Japan to begin FTA talks

Calling Japan an "important economic partner," visiting Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi on Wednesday asked Japan to begin talks soon with China on a bilateral free trade agreement, the Kyodo news agency reported. Wu also called for strengthening cooperation in forming energy and industrial strategies, as well as increasing Japanese investments in part of China that have yet to attract Japanese attention.
