China won't impose higher tax rate on foreign firms

Although the differing income tax rates for foreign and domestic companies will equalize eventually in complaince with China's WTO commitment, Beijing says it will not raise the tax rate for foreign companies for now, pending further study. Foreign manufacturers in China currently pay a 15% tax rate, versus the 24% rate for domestic companies.
