China's aviation market flying high

Latest figures from China’s Civil Aviation Administration show that the country’s domestic aviation market has continued to grow during the first half of 2009.

At Beijing’s Capital International Airport, passenger volume from January to June rose by 20% over the same period last year.

Huang Weihua, Deputy Manager of Command Center, Capital Int’l Airport said ‘Judging from departure and arrival volume, and passenger throughput, business has reached the highest level of last year, which was recorded during the National Day holidays.’
CCTV.com reported that Li Jiaxiang, Director of Civil Aviation Administration said ‘August and September will be the golden time for civil aviation.

He forecast passenger volume will increase by about 20% over the course of the year.’
