China's semiconductor industry is on the rise and likely to pose a serious threat to Taiwan's within three to five years, Asia Pulse reported, citing the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research. China's semiconductor industry has been growing rapidly thanks to government support, high demand and successful replication of Taiwan's model. Many foreign chipmakers have since entered the vast Chinese market, either independently or through joint ventures.
