China's entrepreneurs join climate change battle

China’s entrepreneurs have told world leaders at Copenhagen that they will join the fight against climate change by finding new and innovative ways to advance green technology, state media reported. In a statement read at the Copenhagen summit, Wang Shi, chairman of property developer Vanke, said that entrepreneurs would explore models of low-carbon economic growth and reductions in greenhouse gasses. "We Chinese entrepreneurs are willing to work together with our peers, governments and civil society groups from around the globe to embrace a sustainable development and take responsibility for the welfare of future generations,” he said. Wang Shi was reading the statement on behalf of 200 members from Entrepreneurs and Ecology (SEE), China Entrepreneur Club, China Entrepreneurs Forum, China Urban Realty Association, and the Chinese Business Delegation.
