China's tourism revenue to grow 13% in 2010

As China offers more and more favorable policies to back the industry, the China Tourism Academy said total revenue in China’s tourism industry is expected to grow 13% to hit $205 billion in 2010.

Chinese tourists overseasChinese tourists are forecast to make 2.1 billion domestic trips in the new year, up 12% from 2009, which would generate a rise of 14% year on year in revenue, according to the report.
It is forecast that there will be 136 million overseas tourists, up 8% from a year earlier, while outbound trips by Chinese tourists would advance 15% to 5.4 billion.
China View reports the government posted guidelines to promote the development of the tourism industry, vowing to simplify approval procedures for tourism enterprises, and encourage local authorities to attract overseas investment, opening the domestic tourism market to foreign companies.
