China’s September trade surplus with the US was US$17.5 billion – the same as a month earlier, AP reported. The figure indicates the apparent impact of increased imports from the US in recent months. China’s exports to the US over the first nine months of the year grew by 11.2% over the same period last year, while imports increased by 22.1%, the General Administration of Customs said. Also in September, China’s global trade surplus – the amount that exports exceed imports – hit a new monthly high of US$29.3 billion, as import growth slipped for the second consecutive month.
