Chinese chipmaker Cabricon sees slowing of growth

August 11, 2026

Cambricon Technologies once-explosive growth slowed sharply in the second quarter as the Chinese AI-chip maker contends with supply constraints and rising competition at home, reports Caixin.

The Shanghai-listed company posted revenue of RMB 5.99 billion ($888 million) in the first half of the year, up 108% year over year, while net profit excluding non-recurring items jumped 137% to RMB 2.2 billion.

However, its quarterly trajectory reveals a sharp cooldown. Second-quarter revenue rose 76% from a year earlier, compared with growth of about 160% in the first quarter and increases of more than 40-fold in the first half of 2025.
